2026 Election

Illinois Primary Election Day is March 17, 2026.

The first day to vote early or by mail is February 5, 2026. Be sure you are registered to vote and make sure your information is up to date on Illinois’s election website.

Not yet registered to vote? You can register online by March 1, 2026. This is often the fastest way to register to vote or update your registration, including changing your name or address, and for some states, political party.

You can also use Illinois’s mail-in registration form. You’ll need to print the form, fill it out, and mail it to your state election office by February 17, 2026. You’ll need access to a printer and a postage stamp.
